Agil and Klein's Exciting Meal (エギルとクラインのわくわくご飯,Egiru to Kurain no Wakuwaku Gohan?) is a short story written by Kawahara Reki for the Dengeki Bunko Choukansha Fair 2017, released on August 1, 2017.[1][2] It is set during the Aincrad Arc.
Plot[]
Shortly after the boss fight on the 67th Floor, Kirito was invited by Agil and Klein to Agil's Shop. The two men, who had paid Argo the information dealer to discover Kirito's least favourite food, wanted to purchase and offer him this meal as a form of joke. Their plan was to gladden Kirito, who had been in a bad mood since the recent boss fight, which had resulted in player deaths.
Not wanting to disappoint his friends, Kirito tasted the meal and discovered that it was actually delicious. Agil and Klein were astonished by the unexpected revelation, while Kirito, who could not stop eating, asked for the identity of the chef. Agil refused to answer, explaining that he had promised to keep it a secret. In the end, the two joined Kirito in eating the meal.
