Andrew Gilbert Mills (アンドリュー・ギルバート・ミルズ,Andoryū Girubāto Miruzu?), known as Agil (エギル,Egiru?) in Sword Art Online (SAO), ALfheim Online (ALO), and Project Alicization, is a supporting character in the Aincrad Arc and a reoccurring character throughout the Sword Art Online series. He was one of the 10,000 players who were trapped in «Sword Art Online» (SAO), where he was a veteran axe-wielder and a merchant who owned a shop in Algade, a city on the 50th Floor of «Aincrad». After returning to the real world in the aftermath of the Sword Art Online incident, Andrew began playing ALfheim Online (ALO) as a Gnome. In real life, Andrew manages the «Dicey Café» with the help of his wife.
Andrew is a massive and bulky[4] African-American[5] man with a brown goatee and brown eyes.[4] He is bald and wears two silver earrings on his left ear in both Sword Art Online and the real world.[6] At the beginning of the Sword Art Online official service, Agil wore a breastplate over a sleeveless shirt, light brown pants, and fur boots.[4] By the end of the Sword Art Online Incident, he wore jungle green robes and gray armor while in combat.[7] In the real world, Andrew wears a white shirt and a dark gray apron over pants of the same color.[6] Kirigaya Kazuto also commented that he is as large in real life as he is in-game.[8]
ALfheim Online
In ALfheim Online, Agil's appearance is similar to his Sword Art Online avatar, except his robes are dark moss green.[9]
Personality
Agil is a friendly and very helpful person who is always looking out for others. He is also someone to rely on such as when he defended the beta testers against Kibaou, giving Kirito a place to stay, and helping players on lower floors. He also can be a leader on the battlefield and will help his comrades and friends no matter what the cost may be. Although he acted as if he only cared about the money, Kirito commented that Agil had spent all of his money helping mid-level players level up.
Background
Although African-American by ethnicity, Andrew's parents took a liking to Japan.[5] Andrew was born in Ueno, Tokyo,[10] and he opened his coffee shop-bar in Okachimachi at the age of twenty-five.[5] Among his customers[5] was a woman named Trish[1], who was a foreigner, lived nearby and shared interests with Andrew, thus Andrew and Trish eventually got married.[10] Afterwards, Andrew became trapped in SAO for two years and when he came back, he expected the shop to have closed long ago, but it was saved by his wife's efforts.[5]
Agil was first seen defending the beta testers from Kibaou, who was saying that they caused the two thousand people to die. He showed Kibaou «Argo's Strategy Guide: First Floor Boss edition» and said that the beta testers were not all to blame as they gave everyone free information, which they could obtain for free in any non-player shop. In the boss fight, he and his party helped Kirito and Asuna beat the boss.
He also showed capable leadership during the first boss fight, being able to safely lead his party without any casualties. Agil also spoke out against Kibaou's accusations against the beta testers, noting that Argo's freely distributed guide had information from none other than the "selfish" beta testers themselves.
On December 15, 2022, at five o'clock, Agil and his friends participated in the first strategy meeting for the 3rd Floor. Hearing that Lind was forbidding Kirito and Asuna from joining the same guild, Agil expressed exasperation. When Lind shifted his focus to Agil's group, inquiring about their intentions of joining either of the two main guilds, all four of them declined, as they seemingly desired to create a guild of their own.

Agil and his guild agreed to join Kirito in defeating the 5th Floor boss to obtain the Flag of Valor before the Aincrad Liberation Squad could, in order to maintain the fragile balance between the ALS and the Dragon Knights Brigade.

Nearing the end of the second year, he appeared as the merchant who Kirito tried to sell the Ragout Rabbit's Meat that he had acquired to, until Asuna showed up and Kirito realized she would be able to cook it.
Agil made his primary store location on the 50th Floor's city, «Algade», and had a good relationship with Kirito. His store motto was to buy and sell cheap, and although the latter part was usually doubted, he in fact used his income to help players on the lower floors. After Kirito was revealed to be the second Unique Skill user, Kirito temporarily lived on the second floor of Agil's shop to avoid public attention.

Agil later closed his shop and came to the 75th Floor's boss battle to aid in the boss fight. Prior to Kirito's rematch with Heathcliff, Kirito thanked Agil for always helping and supporting the mid-level players of the game in order to reach the front lines.
After Sword Art Online was cleared, Andrew returned to manage his shop, the Dicey Cafe. To his surprise and relief, his wife had been able to keep the shop from closing during his two years of absence.
As Asuna had not returned after the completion of SAO, Andrew showed a screenshot taken in ALfheim Online of what appeared to be Asuna, tipping Kirigaya Kazuto off to her location. Andrew gave Kazuto a copy of the game, and Kazuto was pressed to return to the world of VRMMORPGs and save Asuna.
Although he did not play ALfheim Online during the few days during which Kirito saved Asuna, he played ALO later as a Gnome axe-wielder. He even played with Kirigaya Suguha, Kazuto's sister. Andrew's cafe was also used for the celebration of completing SAO and the rescue of Asuna. Many remaining SAO players came to the celebration, including the Aincrad Liberation Force's (The Army) leader, Thinker, as well as his wife, Yulier.
