The «Deep Sea Plunderers» (深海の略奪者, Shinkai no Ryakudatsusha?) is a quest available at the very edge of Alfheim's world map, to the south of Swilvane, in ALfheim Online.
Background[]
Desiring revenge against The Aesir yet being unable to match them in power, the Kraken attempted to obtain the Power of The Child by stealing The Child's Egg from an Undersea Temple guarded by Leviathan the Sea Lord. However, since a barrier prevented the creature from infiltrating the temple, the Kraken chose to disguise himself as an old man named Nerakk and ask fairies to retrieve the egg in his stead. According to Nerakk's cover story, thieves living in the temple had stolen what he referred to as a large pearl that he was planning to offer to an old friend as a gift.[1]
Quest Details[]
The quest begins after the players dive into the sea near the Undersea Temple and accept the quest from a Non-Player Character (NPC)) named Nerakk. After crossing a barrier, the players must enter the temple and navigate through it to the lower floors. After fighting through monsters and evading traps throughout the temple, the players must retrieve what they are led to believe is a pearl from the sanctuary of the temple.[1]
Leviathan's Route[]
After exiting the temple with the pearl, if the player(s) refuse(s) to present the pearl to Nerakk upon realising that he had deceived them into stealing The Child's Egg, the NPC transforms into an overpowered Kraken the Abyss Lord and a boss fight ensues between the players and the monster. The battle will be interrupted midway through by a boss named Leviathan the Sea Lord. After the Kraken retreats to the depths of the ocean upon being dissuaded from continuing the conflict, Leviathan retrieves the egg from the players and sends them back to Alfheim on a whale.[1]
Nerakk's Route[]
After exiting the temple with the pearl, if the player(s) choose to present the pearl to Nerakk, he will thank the players for their service, completing the quest. Nerakk would then summon a giant squid to send the players back to the Alfheim by wrapping them up with its tentacles.[2]
