Eldrie Woolsburg (エルドリエ・ウールスブルーグ, Erudorie Uurusuburuggu^?) is an Integrity Knight who appears in Alicization Turning.

Appearance

Eldrie is rather tall and has a thin stature, a stunningly beautiful face with eyebrows that give off a rugged expression, and long pale purple hair.

As an Integrity Knight, Eldrie wears a suit of polished silver armor with a purple mantle, which has a crest with a cross going through a circle embroidered upon it.

Background

He was trained in the Imperial Knight Order, where his father was a general, and became its representative for the Empire Swordsmanship Tournament, where he defeated Sortiliena Serlut in his first match and Uolo Levanteinn in the second. He later won the Four Empires Unity Tournament and was invited to the Central Cathedral. After he had arrived at the Cathedral, Quinella performed a «Synthesis Ritual» on him. The ritual involved suppressing the memories of his past life via manipulation of his Fluctlight, as well as the use of a «Piety Module», and the creation of a new identity, who is completely loyal to Quinella due to the «Piety Module» that takes the form of a purple prism embedded into his forehead.

After Kirito and Eugeo escape from prison at the Axiom Church, they find him waiting for them in the rose garden maze of the Church, since Alice ordered him to spend the night in the maze, anticipating that the prisoners will try to escape. Eldrie himself initially didn't think that this would be possible and intended to admire the rosebuds with a glass of wine.

To enjoy himself, he decides to fight Kirito and Eugeo before returning them to prison. Since Kirito was using a chain as a whip, he decides to use his Frost Scale Whip instead of his sword. He enhances the whip with an extremely powerful spell and is able to easily counter Kirito's spell with his speed chanting.

After a series of struggles his left cheek is cut by Kirito using a fragment of a glass cup that Eldrie shattered before. Kirito takes him to a stalemate while Eugeo attacks him by surprise from the back, with no other option, he activates the Release Recollection command and transforms his whip into a snake, throwing Eugeo to the floor and breaking Kirito's chain.

At this point, Eugeo recalls that Eldrie Woolsburg was the champion of the Four Empires Unity tournament that took place in the first third of the 4th month (which he had read on a weekly wall newspaper published on the bulletin board at the main academy). This revelation shocks Eldrie, as he has no memories of his life as Eldrie Woolsburg, before becoming an Integrity Knight, and as Eldrie begins thinking of his past, a purple prism protrudes from his forehead, though begins fading away with time. Noticing this, Kirito encourages Eugeo to trigger more of Eldrie's memories to stop the prism from fading away. However, this is soon afterwards interrupted by another Integrity Knight shooting arrows at the prisoners and the prism continued returning to Eldrie's forehead.
