Jun (ジュン, Jun^?) is a close-range tank-build swordsman member of the «Sleeping Knights» guild.

Appearance

Jun is described as a short Salamander boy with red eyes and orange hair tied in a braid at the back of his head. In battle, he wears a copper-red full plate armor that does not match his small stature and wields a great sword, almost as tall as him, on his back. When not in battle, he wears a simple reddish-brown V-neck shirt with sewn threads on the cuffs and collar and brownish leather trousers.

Personality

Though afflicted with cancer, Jun is an easy going person who always wears a smile on his face and always has a joke to tell. Due to his young age, he is easily excited when experiencing new things and is sometimes nervous when faced with fearsome opponents. However, he is a capable fighter who boasts strong offensive and defensive abilities due to him being a Salamander, making him an invaluable addition to his guild.

Background

Jun met the other members of the Sleeping Knights at a virtual hospice named Serene Garden. They decided to travel the virtual worlds together and ended up in ALfheim Online. Wanting to have their names engraved in the Monument of Swordsmen and therefore be remembered forever, the group tried to defeat the bosses of the 25^th and 26th floors of Aincrad. However, they were defeated and, after some deliberation, decided to ask another player to aid them in their quest.

Chronology

Mother's Rosario

Jun, along with the rest of his guild, manage to convince Asuna, an Undine player whom Yuuki brought to their headquarters, to help them clear the 27th floor. However, they are defeated during their first try and later find out that a party they had met at the entrance to the Boss room had casted «Peeping» on Jun, which allowed them to view the boss' attack patterns and weaknesses without the risk of the death penalty via a gray newt attached to Jun. Unfazed, Asuna convinces the group to try again and the group returns to the Labyrinth, only to find members of a large guild blocking their path. They manage to fight their way through with the help of Asuna's friends, Kirito and Klein, and successfully defeat the boss, turning their dream into a reality.

After their success at the 27th floor, the guild rises to fame and takes part in clearing the 28th floor with the help of other guilds and the 29th floor with the help of Asuna. After Yuuki's death, the guild disbands and Jun discovers that his treatments are working and that his health is getting better.

Abilities

Flight: As a member of the Salamander race, Jun is capable of flying with the use of a pair of insect-like wings.

• Voluntary Flight: Despite only playing the game for a short while, Jun, like the rest of his guild, is capable of using Voluntary Flight, a skill that allows one to fly without the help of a controller.

Provoke: Jun is capable of using Provoke. This skill generates Hate, making him the target of his opponent(s).

Equipment

Full Plate Armor: Jun wears a copper-red full plate armors that boosts his defensive abilities. With the help of this armor, Jun is capable of tanking the damages inflicted by his opponent(s).

Great Sword: When in combat, Jun uses a two-handed great sword almost as tall as him.
