Salvia (サルビア, Sarubia?), released at COMITIA 88 on May 5, 2009, is the 5th Material Edition written by Kunori Fumio. The story was later re-released under the title Salvia and the MTB (サルビアとMTB, Sarubia to MTB?) on June 9, 2018 as part of Dengeki Bunko MAGAZINE Vol.62.[1] This new rendition of the story had some changes compared to the original release, ranging from stylistic changes to original new paragraphs that tie the story into the events of the main series.[3] This updated version of the story was included in the Material Edition: Remix.
The story is set during the Fairy Dance Arc and features Kirigaya Kazuto and Suguha spending a day together.
Plot[]
After their morning kendo practice on January 26, 2025, Kazuto and Suguha recalled a childhood memory involving the salvia flower. Suddenly remembering something, Kazuto decided to take Suguha for a ride on his bike. After a few minutes, they arrived before a luxurious house. Discouraged, the boy explained that there was a vacant lot before, instead of the building. Just as they were about to leave, Suguha noticed blue salvia flowers blooming in a corner of the lawn. At that moment, they were approached by the owner of the house. During their conversation, Kazuto revealed that he was the one who planted the flowers, thus the owner of the lot decided to give the siblings some of the salvia flowers. On their return home, Suguha learnt that Kazuto had planted the flowers as a birthday present for her a long time ago but had forgotten where the lot was. After many attempts, he had abandoned the hope of finding it, until he remembered the location while talking to her.
