  • Cause I know this wika always goes by the fan translations and not Yen Press’s translations so I was wondering which one is the official name.

      Loading editor
    • I'll have to correct you on that. The wiki doesn't blindly follow whatever Yen Press comes up with, seeing as they have ignored actual official spellings on numerous occasions. However, neither do we just go with whatever fan translations came up with, especially when their variants don't really make sense (e.g., we have changed Schuberg to Zuberg, since the former was misleading pronunciation-wise).

Naming on the wiki is decided through community discussions. In the case of Renly, we decided to go with the Yen Press version, as the fan translation had multiple variants anyway (multiple translators came up with their own versions), so going with Yen Press was an easier way to resolve the issue.

  • You recently undid my addition 2 to pages where I added photos of them because you said it was a guideline breach. What was breached and where are the guidelines so I can see them and prevent doing it again?

      Loading editor
    • Hello, I will allow myself to reply to your question.

As your edits were uploads of images, you can find the image guideline here!

Basically, your pictures weren't in a 16:9 ratio, they did not have any category and you have not tagged them as licensed.

  • Hello Gsimenas,

I'm Lucas and I'm a member of the Fandom Anime Content Team. Basically, it's our job to act as a resource for anime focused wikis and help them grow. The SAO wiki is in great shape and I'm just getting in touch to see if my team and I can help with any ongoing projects in the community; especially with the recent release of the latest season of the anime.

Thansk for your time and, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out and I'll get in touch as soon as I'm able.

    Sincerely,

    • Thanks for the offer, but we're not so much an anime wiki as we are a novel wiki. While we do cover the anime's content, most of our content comes from the novel or various side stories by the author. So, I'm not really sure how your team could help us... especially since I am personally unaware of what exactly your team does. We get our news directly from Japanese sources, seeing as we have people who can translate Japanese, and we have someone working on video content for the wiki; I can't think of anything else your team would be helping with.

Edit: One thing we could use help with is figuring out how to embed a Google calendar on the wiki. We manage an event calendar for the series, but since verbatim was taken down, I haven't been able to find a way to embed a calendar on the wiki.

        Loading editor
    • My team and I would be happy to help with that embed.

Basically the Fandom Anime Team just acts as a resource for wikis tied to anime, like the Fate/Grand Order wiki, Chainsaw Man wiki, and My Hero Academia wiki. We help out with ongoing projects, clarify any questions you might have about Fandom's actions or policies, and help prep wikis for upcoming events tied to their series.

If you have any other questions or have anything else that you'd like a hand with, feel free to let me know.

    • If I may chime in, as Gsimenas stated, since we receive our news straight from Japanese sources and translate them ourselves, it is quite hard to come up with possible requests, not knowing the scope of your operations. We tend to assume it's most probably western networking, which more often than not, does not even receive the news we receive from Japan and bring over to the west in a worst case scenario, whereas the most common scenario is that the western departments receive news a couple weeks after we already shared them from Japanese sources. It is incredibly rare that western publishers are "on time" with their material and even if that ends up being the case, it's still slower than us following Japanese sources, because when things get announced in Japan, more often than not it's US Midnight, so nothing is shared from there until they wake up hours later.

So, it would be really helpful to hear about the scope of the Fandom Anime Team and their operations. Does the Anime Team strictly focus on "Anime" or it has a wider reach akin to "Anime related content" for example? Could we, for example, assume the Anime Team can help us with receiving SAO Light Novel or SAO Magazine once they are released in Japan? Could we assume the Anime Team can help us with SAO Games by Bandai Namco, allowing us to have maybe opportunities to visit one of their nearby studios (for example, Bandai Namco Germany and Bandai Namco Italy HQ's are in close proximity to where I live) to get exclusive gameplay footage or an actual first hand experience to share bits of rare info? Or is the Anime Team really limited to Anime content with contacts at the likes of Aniplex USA, in which case, we are already far superior in our news operations than they are with their internal information flows.

Edit: I got ninja'd T.T Still, in regards to possibilities, I'd say questions I provided are open for answers.

    • Hey Gsimeans and Kaantantr,

I talked to the webmaster side of our team and it doesn't look like there's any way to embed a Google Calender onto a wiki at this time. Appologies for the inconvenience.

As for the scope of the Fandom Anime Team, we primarily create and improve content on wikis related to anime. This does regulerly include series like SAO, which started out as a Light Novel, saw a manga and anime adaptation, and has since branched out into other mediums. Usually our efforts focus on expanding the content found on a given wiki (ie. adding episode summaries or filling in character information) and making a wiki easier to navigate (ie. adding interlinks, reformatting pages, and clearing out duplicate pages). All of this ties into our end goal of raising a wiki's viewership and total users.

While we are pursuing partnerships with numerous companies based in Japan, we cannot offer the wiki early press information about SAO right now. What we can do, though, is help expand the wiki, act as a moderation and support resource if any issues come up, and give you a point of contact if you have any questions about Fandom's future actions.

    • Hello! I’m extremely apologetic for the late response. I just wanted to say that I have not forgotten about the wiki or the episode summaries. I have been swamped with different projects for wiki’s, plus also hold another job on top of this one.

I will definitely have this done by the end of this week.

While I’m here, just wanted to check up and see if you needed anything?

      Best,

      Sayuri

    • No rush. I've got plenty of other stuff to work on anyway.

Aside from calendar embeds, I'm not aware of any other feature we're missing on the wiki right now.

  • Excuse me sorry I just wanted to help I tried to add captions and I was having trouble and you don’t have to use that rude language.

    • You've been specifically warned before on how inpolite it is to snag someone else's work and then halfass it, i.e. only finish half the job so that other people still need do the rest (https://swordartonline.fandom.com/wiki/Thread:67825).

    • That was half a year ago I forgot okay. I’m sorry. Also I didn’t know it was your work I just scrolled around the gallery images and saw some images weren’t added. So I thought hey I think I should help out and tried to figured out the captions because as soon as I added the images they are added I tried to add them. I’m sick of being yelled at cause I wanted to help. You don’t have to be rude and also like I said before that was half a year ago that was when I was done more so taking a break from here cause it was too much for me dealing with you. I’m sorry for causing trouble and I’ll never here ever again.

    • Also I didn’t know it was your work I just scrolled around the gallery images and saw some images weren’t added.

If something is already on the wiki library, it's only logical to assume they were uploaded for a reason (unless the files were uploaded by non-regulars, but those usually get deleted if they have issues or have no use), since our wiki doesn't condone uploading files for the sake of uploading them without actually putting them to use. Hence, it's only common decency to ask the uploader to double check if they're planning to add the file to galleries.

In this case, I uploaded a batch of files (I frequently do my uploads in batches, as I don't always have the time to check for new files on a daily or even weekly basis), but decided to space out adding the files to galleries because there were a lot of files that needed to be added to numerous galleries and I neither had the time to do all of this one go, nor did I want to spam the feed with gallery edits, as it makes it harder to spot vandalism. I had even made some of the planned gallery edits like a day or so before your edit, which should have been a sign that I'm still working on it.

So I thought hey I think I should help out and tried to figured out the captions because as soon as I added the images they are added I tried to add them.

      I couldn't understand this sentence.

I’m sick of being yelled at cause I wanted to help

Where do you see me yelling? Yes, I was irritated by your edit, especially since it wasn't the first time this very same issue happened. But I didn't even use any exclamation marks, let alone all-caps or anything, so I don't know where you get that I was "yelling". Though I do admit that my phrasing for the edit comment might have been somewhat harsh, partially because of my aforementioned irritation and partially because I couldn't think of a better phrasing when I made my edit just before going bed. And before you ask, I'm not being any harsher with you than with other people. Though most other people are regulars and are aware that I complain about stuff like this, so they don't take it personally.

  • Hi... I'm English - Bahasa Indonesia translator and i would like to ask you some guidance in creating Bahasa Indonesia Version of Sword Art Online Wiki.

Do you have any tips or guide for me to achieve this?

    Thanks.

      Loading editor
    • Sorry for the late response. I was pretty busy the past week. I can't really give you any tips when you don't bring up any specific issues you're having. Creating a wiki on Fandom is pretty straightforward. Fandom even has various lessons for beginner editors (https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Fandom_University), so you may want to check those out. If you have specific issues, perhaps I could help you with them.

    • Hello Gsimenas, I want to thank you for your permission for using the source here to envolve [Sword Art Online Indonesia Wiki]. I would like to ask your expertise regarding how to create a template for the main page. I try to re create the English Main Page to have some consistency but i found some trouble, specially in Templates:PageHeader.

      Thanks before.

    • Templates are the field of our tech admins. I can't really help you with that, since I'm a content admin. You'd be better of asking TUSF or Mamue for help with those.

  • Hi Gismenas,

I saw that you undid my edit on the Blue Rose Sword page, specifically adding three images. You cited breach of guidelines as the reason. I just wanted to check which guidelines I breached, so I can make sure not to do it again in the future.

Thanks, and sorry to bother you.

      Loading editor
    • You can find our image guidelines at https://swordartonline.fandom.com/wiki/Image_Guideline (you can also find it and other guidelines on the top bar under Help --> Policies)

If you want specifics for your case:

      1. Your images were all watermarked and still had your video player visible
      2. None of your images were properly named
      3. None of your images were sourced or categorised
      4. The images were of low quality, since you took screenshots of a video player (and I assume with an iPad or something due to the irregular file resolution, which means that the images are unnecessarily stretched), rather than using the video player's screenshot function.
        Loading editor
    • Thank you very much, you are correct about the images originating from an iPad.

  • yes in in ALO kirito used his account login yes kayaba did use his system login in ainecrad no there isn't anything confirmed about it in GGO or the SAO the movie ordinal scale

no kirito doesn't remember the login but does remember the command  in season2 when he retrives excalibur or the sword of king arthur

you do realize that when he looks at excalibur he says ... long time no see to excalibur

also if he remembers excalibur he might still have acess to heathcliff's account

i also know it by herat here

    system login:id heathcliff

system :command change administrator authorties set id oberon to level1

system:command set pain absorber to 0

ok so level1 is just a player 2 3 4 is admin mod and owner and advanced developer

    • What on earth are you even talking about?

First of all, you're messaging me out of the blue with no context yet assuming that I somehow understand what brought up this topic.

Secondly, you're not making sense with any of your points. So he remembers the sword, so what? How does that relate to having access to Heathcliff's account? Just because you can remember some past event doesn't mean you can remember a gibberish password from nearly a year ago...

Thirdly, I don't get what your last few lines are about at all.

        Loading editor
    • Easier term Kayaba already was logged into his account in Sao that’s why his account was working for Kirito also the rest was what I memorised from the season
