Orlando (オルランド,Orurando?) is one of the 10,000 players who were trapped in «Sword Art Online» and the leader of Legend Braves, a team, formed for a virtual reality game three months before the release of Sword Art Online, who decided to play Sword Art Online together.
Orlando is a burly swordsman wore a banded armour that made his already hefty form look even more rotund, a pointy, onion-shaped bascinet helmet and used a round shield and an Anneal Blade[† 1], all of his equipment glowing due to being enhanced close to the limit. Orlando also has thick eyebrows and a brassy voice.
On December 8, 2022; Orlando and his friends were spending the evening in a bar when Nezha joined them. Orlando encouraged Nezha to drink up and the conversation then turned to how well Nezha did with his business that day. When they began talking about Nezha wanting to stop his scam, one of the group noticed that the door looked suspicious and Orlando went outside to check, but after investigating the surroundings and not finding anything, Orlando returned to the bar.
The next day, Orlando, along with Beowulf and Cuchulainn, took part in the battle against the Bullbous Bow as the reserve. After two of the tanks were hit by the Field Boss and were temporarily unable to continue the fight, Kibaou gave the signal for Orlando and Beowulf to replace them.
On December 14, 2022; Orlando, along with Beowulf, Cuchulainn, Gilgamesh and Enkidu, joined the raid party for the 2nd Floor Boss and formed group G. Initially, they were supposed to be one of the two parties assigned to dealing with Nato the Colonel Taurus, but as they had lost contact with Nezha and thus lost a significant source of income, Orlando complained about the unfairness of them being assigned to deal with the mob, instead of rotating in the fight against the supposed main boss, which would have given them significantly more experience points even if they were not the ones who dealt the finishing blow. As Orlando's group had excellent and greatly enhanced equipment and could thus be highly useful in the battle, the raid's leader Lind agreed to allow them to fight against Baran the General Taurus instead.
When Orlando and his group noticed that Nezha had joined the battle midway, Orlando nearly called Nezha's name, but forced himself to stop midway. Later, when Argo informed Lind and Kibaou about Asterius the Taurus King's patterns, Orlando and his group proved to be the strongest group in the raid, as they could withstand the numbing effects of the boss at very close range without being stunned due to their high debuff resistance armour and could thus continue their assault even when the taurus used his numbing skill, while all the other attackers had to temporarily retreat.
In the aftermath of the battle, Orlando exchanged handshakes with Lind. However, when several players of the raid who were scammed by Nezha approached the former blacksmith to hear his explanation, Orlando and his group stood at the left edge of the raid, visibly uncomfortable. The group continued watching and whispering to each other as the crowd became angrier. When the crowd began demanding Nezha's death, Orlando and his group stared down at the ground, avoiding looking at Nezha, until they decided to approach Nezha. Unexpectedly, Orlando apologised to Nezha, laid down his sword, got down on his knees next to Nezha, and admitted their involvement in the fraud.
