Sadore (サードレ, Sādore^?) is a craftsman who wished to craft a sword that would rival all forged swords. In his youth, he set out to find a material that he could use to carve into a great sword that could rival even forged swords, which usually have a higher Priority class than crafted swords.

History

While searching for a material suitable for creating a great sword, he eventually came upon the Gigas Cedar, a gigantic tree in the northern region of the Norlangarth North Empire with an abnormally large priority and became friends with the man in charge of cutting the tree at that time, Garitta. He attempted to climb to the very top of the tree and cut off a branch, so that he could carve a sword from it, but spent 3 days trying without even putting a scratch on the branch. He asked Garitta to inform him if the tree is ever cut down in his lifetime.

Many years later, Kirito and Eugeo came to Sadore, and asked him to make a sword from the branch of the Gigas Cedar. In astonishment, Sadore accepted, and told the duo that he would have a great sword for them ready in one year. Sadore wasted many of his tools crafting the sword but after a full year, he finally completed it. He told Kirito that he could have it for free, if he had the strength to lift and swing it, which Kirito demonstrated for him, though he accidentally broke a shield in the process. Sadore then told Kirito to give it a proper name as the sword would be a signature of his shop. Kirito said that he would think about a proper name for the sword.
