Sadore (サードレ,Sādore?) was a supporting character in the Alicization Arc. He was a craftsman based in North Centoria, who dreamed of crafting a carved sword that would rival all forged swords. In his youth, he set out to find a material that he could use to carve into a great sword that could rival even forged swords, which usually have a higher Priority class than carved swords.
While searching for a material suitable for creating a great sword, Sadore eventually discovered the Gigas Cedar, a gigantic tree in the northern region of the Norlangarth North Empire with an abnormally large Priority, and became friends with a man from Rulid Village that was in charge of cutting the tree at that time, Garitta. He attempted to climb to the very top of the tree and cut off a branch that he could carve a sword from, but could not manage a single scratch on the branch in three days of work. Disappointed, he asked Garitta to inform him if the tree were ever to be felled in his lifetime, before taking his leave.
Many years later, Sadore's store in North Centoria was visited by two boys from Rulid Village, named Eugeo and Kirito, who brought him a branch of the Gigas Cedar, commissioning his services to carve a sword out of the branch. Accepting the request in astonishment, Sadore informed the duo that he would have a great sword for them ready in one year. Sadore wasted many of his tools crafting the sword but after a full year, he finally succeeded in completing the job. When Kirito visited his store to claim the finished sword, Sadore decided to let him have it for free, as long as the boy had the strength to lift and swing it. Before the boy left, Sadore asked him to give his creation a proper name, as it would become the signature of his shop.
