Sakuya (サクヤ, Sakuya?) is a supporting character in the Fairy Dance Arc and a reoccurring character throughout the Sword Art Online series. She is the Lord of the Sylph race in ALfheim Online and an exceptional swordswoman. She was elected as the leader of the Sylph race by garnering 80% of votes.[3] Although her stats are not very high due to her status as a Lord preventing her from leaving safe zones without proper escort, she is a formidable opponent in the Sylph dueling tournaments.
Appearance[]
For a female Sylph, Sakuya had an excessively tall figure, with glossy, dark green hair so dark that it is nearly black hanging down her back.[3] She has white skin, almond eyes, a high nose bridge, and thin lips.[3] According to Leafa her beauty is that of a finely honed blade.[3] Sakuya wears Japanese-style clothing and a katana that hangs from her obi.[3] Her feet clad in high crimson clogs peek out from beneath the hem of her leaf green kimono.[3]
Chronology[]
Fairy Dance Arc[]
During a meeting with the Cait Sith, she was attacked by Salamanders led by General Eugene. At the same moment, Kirito flew in to challenge the general to a duel. After Kirito won the battle, she attempted to seduce him along with Alicia Rue. Leafa smothered their attempt, saying that she was accompanying him to the World Tree. At the end of the arc, Lady Sakuya led a combined force of Cait Sith and Sylph against the World Tree's Guardians in an attempt to aid Kirito with the battle. After Kirito reached the top of the World Tree, she ordered her forces to pull back.

Some time after the start of 2026, Sakuya and Alicia invited Leafa, Lisbeth, Lux, Silica, and Sinon to relax with them in Swilvane over some tea and sweets. After learning of Lux's embarrassing first meeting with Kirito, among other antics, Sakuya received a report of another player killing incident in her territory, much to her concern. Sakuya informed the other girls of the recent player killer incidents that targeted both veteran and new players. As the highly damaging incidents would affect her standing as leader of the Sylphs, the Lord had sent what she deemed to be a more than sufficient number of her best warriors to defeat the player killers, but none of them succeeded. Sakuya quietly elaborated on the player killer gangs' equipment, as well as how the bandits had nullified her warriors' magic, and declared they needed more information on their tactics before they could handle the problem effectively.
Later that night, Sakuya and several of her guards encountered Leafa, Lisbeth, Lux, and Silica locked in battle against the player killers. When the player killers decided to withdraw, the Sylph Lord ordered her warriors to capture at least one of the bandits. Despite their efforts, the Sylphs were unable to prevent any of the player killers from escaping, while Sakuya herself was struck by a player-made spear. When she reported to the other girls of what had occurred, she expressed her unease over the thieves' experience in player versus player combat as well as their counterattack; however, she was somewhat heartened at the implication that the bandits' magic nullification had some special requirements. Declaring that it had become too dangerous for her as the leader of the Sylphs to remain outside the safe zone, Sakuya requested the girls to notify her of any news they acquired on the player killer gang, before leaving the area.
