Sword Art Offline 7 (そーどあーとおふらいん7,Sōdo Āto Ofurain 7?) is the seventh episode of the Sword Art Offline extra series that was bundled with limited edition version Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. This episode is anchored by Leafa and Kirito, with Yui as the special guest.
Leafa reported that the mysterious newbie player introduced in the previous episode has appeared in Swilvane, the capital of the Sylph territory. His suspicious behaviour has caused him to be suspected of being a spy. Leafa then reported that the suspect, named Kirito, had charged into the Tower of Wind, the symbol of the Sylph territory, but his attempt suspected attempt at sabotage failed. Kirito was then seen wandering around Swilvane and made contact with a Sylph VIP. It was believed that the suspected spy was seeking for intelligence and Leafa stated that an information leak during preparations for the Grand Quest assault could spell doom for the Sylph race. Finally, Leafa reported that multiple demands for spy countermeasures have been presented to the Sylph government and that the players were now waiting for a response from the Sylph territory's leader, Lady Sakuya.
Sword Art Trivia[]
"King of ALfheim Oberon" revealed that "Oberon" is the name of a noble fairy king in the folklore of medieval England and that "Oberon" is sometimes written as "Auberon". Oberon then ordered the viewers to address him as "Your Majesty Oberon" and stated that those players who are too familiar with him would be punished by their accounts being deleted. However, female players aged under 24 may address him as Oberon-sama (Lord Oberon) or Obe-sama (Lord Obe).
Playback Corner[]
In this corner, Leafa and Kirito commented on several scenes that appeared in the seventh volume of the BD/DVDs (Episodes 17-19) together with this week's special guest, Yui.
They commented on:
The scene during which Recon debuted (Episode 17). As the subtitle of the scene said that Recon was "Leafa's boyfriend", Leafa was quick to claim that Recon was just a party member and an acquaintance, but not a friend.
The scene during which Sigurd was planning to attack Kirito (Episode 18).
The scene during which one group of Salamander mages healed the front line Salamanders defending from Kirito's attacks and then another group firing fireball magic at Kirito (Episode 19).
The scene during which Kirito had become a Gleam Eyes-like monster with the use of an illusion spell and started attacking the Salamanders shown in the previous scene (Episode 19).
Sword Art Trivia[]
Oberon introduce Titania (Asuna), his consort, who appears in the Shakespearean comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and stated that he found the scorn in her eyes, as if she was gazing upon a moldy rag, to be the most enchanting thing about her.
Slot Talk[]
In this section, the characters discuss about the topic that is brought up randomly by a slot machine. This time the topic chosen by the slot machine is "love talk". While both Leafa and Kirito were reluctant to speak about the topic, Kirito fearing another "where do babies come from?" question from Yui, Yui searched the Internet about love and became interested in the difference between "to love" and "to like", and came to a conclusion that humans have different kinds of "like" and that "love" was the "like" of the highest ranking. Leafa felt that such a way of imagining it was wrong and Kirito stated that there are some things that cannot be ranked - although friends, lovers etc. have slightly different kinds of "like", they were all precious to the person. Yui then asked for specific examples of who Kirito liked, with multiple answers allowed and Kirito replied that he liked Yui, mama, Leafa, Silica, Lisbeth, Agil and Klein, though he was wondering if he should take or leave Klein out of the list. In the end, Kirito asked if Yui liked papa or mama more, to which she answered that comparison was impossible, thus Kirito said that it was fine like that.
