Sword Art Offline 8 (そーどあーとおふらいん8,Sōdo Āto Ofurain 8?) is the eighth episode of the Sword Art Offline extra series that was bundled with limited edition version Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. This episode is anchored by Leafa, with Alicia Rue and Sakuya as special guests in this episode.
Leafa reported that Kirito, who had been the topic of much debate, has died while attempting the Grand Quest and that soon after his attempt, he was discovered as a Remain Light.

Yui stated that there are dungeon to the north, south, east and west of Alne and that each of their deepest areas are connected to Jötunheimr. Super strong evil-god-class monsters prowl Jötunheimr, and since light does not reach it, the flight ability of players cannot regenerate there. Thus, it is the game's field with the highest difficulty.
