Sword Art Offline Two Episode 02 (そーどあーと・おふらいん つー その2, Sōdo Āto Ofurain Tsū Sono 2^?) is the second episode of the Sword Art Offline Two extra series that was bundled with limited edition version Blu-ray Discs and DVDs of the second season of the anime. This episode is anchored by Asuna, with Kirito and Sinon as commentators.

Plot

News Headline

Asuna announced that there was a new gorgeous idol in the fierce world of Gun Gale Online (GGO). Even among MMORPGs, and especially GGO, there were more male than female players, thus it was rare for such a cute girl like her to be found inside the game. Her player profile and name are unknown and her good looks and sweet naive demeanour had quickly become a topic gossiped among the male players. There were even unofficial fan clubs and her fans are eagerly expressing their interest in a photoshoot and her making an idol debut.

After the opening animation, Asuna stated that Kirito could not come due to pressing circumstances and that she managed to talk someone into taking his place, which was in fact Kirito in his GGO avatar. Kirito introduced himself as "Kiriko", but after being question by Asuna about his ideal type of guy, he gave up on his act as a girl. Asuna then introduced Sinon to the show and explained that she would be a regular guest to the show. Sinon openly showed her anger towards Kirito for seeing her in her underwear and stated the things Kirito did to upset would be shown later on.

Sword Art Trivia

Yui explained about the Bullet Lines (trajectory prediction lines) which were the red lines that showed the player the trajectory of their opponent's bullets when they were being targeted. Players could use these lines to evade bullets or take cover from them, but if a sniper was not spotted, their first shot would not have a Bullet Line and because of this, it was nearly impossible to dodge a sniper's first shot.

Playback Corner

The segment began with a clip of Kirito acting like a girl to get Sinon's help. Asuna questioned Kirito how he felt when he was acting. Kirito replied that it was horrible and that all the players were sneering and looking in his direction and kind of understood how Asuna felt in Sword Art Online. Sinon decided to criticise him by saying that he had no problem performing the role of a girl and that Kirito might have a cross-dressing fetish. Kirito quickly denied this and told Sinon to stop making such assumptions. Sinon then claimed that there were more such recordings.

The next clip was when Sinon was in her underwear and Kirito hurriedly looked away. Sinon stated that that was clear evidence of his peverted intentions of acting like a girl. Asuna after hearing that felt distraught and Kirito immediately said that seeing Sinon in her underwear was a complete accident and wasn't intentional. He also added that he apologised after that. Sinon retaliated saying that if it was on purpose Kirito would be dead right now and that if Kirito said he was a guy to begin with, this situation could have been avoided.

The next clip was about Kirito meeting with Spiegel. Sinon commented about how Kirito spoke at that time and that he sounded like a girl. Asuna became very upset and Kirito claimed that he was just joking. Asuna asked if she could trust Kirito on his word, with Kirito replying that she really should. Sinon added that if Speigel was his type, she could tell him. Kirito requested her not to joke about something like that.

The next clip was about Kirito cutting Sinon's bullet in half. Kirito asked if he did anything wrong in that scene and Sinon replied that she did not like how Kirito cut her bullet in half. Kirito asked her if that was a valid reason and, in response, Sinon questioned what was wrong with not liking something. She them stated that he did a lot of things to annoy her and he should just live with it.

Sword Art Trivia

Yui talked about Kirito's pistol, the FN Five-Seven handgun. She explained that its name came from the 5.7mm bullets it fires which are smaller than the common 9mm rounds. She also explained that the gun was rather small and lightweight, being made of polymer, and the bullets resembled that of a rifle's and had enough stopping power to pierce a ballistic vest.

Problem Solving Corner

This episode's problem was sent by the avatar buyer that met Kirito when he first logged into GGO. He claimed he could not stop thinking about Kirito and the M9000-type avatar he had. Sinon responded that the avatar was very rare and often mistaken as a female avatar. She also stated that some people would rather date a guy with this avatar than a real girl due to androgyny. Kirito immediately rejected the idea of dating a guy. Sinon claimed that she pitied the guy and suggested for Kirito to meet the guy. Kirito stated that he did not want to meet him and get his hopes high. Sinon suggested sending a nice and cute picture of Kirito to the avatar buyer and he would be satisfied with that. A picture of Kirito in a cute pose was shown and Sinon offerred the avatar buyer to have that picture and think of it as Kirito he met the other day.

Closer

Asuna asked Sinon how she felt about the show. She replied that it was fun and that she was able to have her revenge on Kirito a bit. She added that she would want to have some more revenge on Kirito, but felt bad for Asuna. Kirito claimed that this season he was not being physically abused as much, but the psychological abuse was increasing. Asuna encouraged Kirito to endure it.
