Sword Art Offline Two Episode 03 (そーどあーと・おふらいん つー その3, Sōdo Āto Ofurain Tsū Sono 3^?) is the third episode of the Sword Art Offline Two extra series that was bundled with limited edition version Blu-ray Discs and DVDs of the second season of the anime. This episode is anchored by Asuna, with Kirito and Sinon as commentators.

Plot

News Headline

Asuna announced that two girls in Gun Gale Online had formed a team. One of them was introduced as a cute black-haired girl who preferred swords rather than guns, and had become a sensation duet to cutting and deflecting bullets with her sword. The other was introduced as a silent, stoic, blue-haired sniper who was revered amongst the top players. Asuna also stated that her weapon, the Hecate II, was powerful enough to take out an opponent in a single shot. It was also reported that the news had sparked discussion among fans about what order they preferred being killed by the two girls.

After the opening animation, Asuna congratulated Kirito and Sinon on having formed a team. However, Sinon rejected the notion of having formed a team and declared that Kirito was not the kind of person anyone would want to form a team with. Asuna remarked that it was unfortunate that they were not a team, as both of them had apparently become popular among Gun Gale Online players. In response, Kirito explained that Gun Gale Online had a smaller female playerbase due to being more of a bloody game than Sword Art Online, and it was natural for male players to be attracted to female players. As an example, Kirito reminded Asuna about her trouble in Sword Art Online, and Asuna recalled that a lot of men had abruptly proposed to her. Hearing about Asuna's troubles, Sinon claimed that no one had proposed to her, but she had her share of men trying to approach her. Afterwards, Kirito teased them about the difficulties of being cute, but when Sinon threatened him with her sniper, he quickly agreed to stop.

Sword Art Trivia

Yui explained that the size of the Bullet of Bullets's main map area is roughly ten kilometres in diameter, and that the land area constituted 78.5 square kilometers, which is about twice the size of Naha in Okinawa, and, coincidentally, is also the size of the first floor of Aincrad. Yui also commented that while there were 10,000 players who could make use of that space in Sword Art Online, there would only be a mere thirty players during the Bullet of Bullets. She explained that this was because the players would be fighting with assault rifles and other more accurate guns, which can be used to engage targets more than a kilometre away, rather than swords.

Playback Corner

The segment began with a clip of Shino complaining about Kirito being completely shameless, constantly harassing her, and always acting cool. She then questions what was the point of going to Gun Gale Online and then using a sword, and complained about Kirito pretending to be a girl to have her lead him to the shops and help pick equipment for him. Hearing her complaints, Kirito remarked that Sinon did not need to get that angry. However, Sinon remarked that watching the clip made her feel annoyed again, thus she wanted to shoot him a few times. Kirito asked her to stop, and, while he admitted that he was at fault, he also commented that Sinon's repercussions were too great. Sinon then remarked that she could not forgive Kirito for having seen her in her underwear. Hearing their conversation, Asuna advised Kirito to let Sinon shoot him a couple of times, to Kirito's surprise. Asuna explained that Sinon had been very kind to him, considering his action, and claimed that if she had been in Sinon's place, she would have stabbed him a couple of times already. In response, Kirito declared that he had not been pretending to be a girl because he wanted to.
