Truce (休戦協定, Kyūsen Kyōtei^?) is the seventeenth episode of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime adaptation. It aired on February 2, 2019.

Plot

As they hung from the wall of the Central Cathedral, Kirito and Alice realized that they had no choice but to cooperate in order to reach the 95th floor, where they could re-enter the building. Kirito tried to explain to Alice that she had been manipulated by Administrator, and that her real memories were sealed away. Alice was skeptical, but listened to him anyway. They climbed up the wall, avoiding the traps and obstacles along the way. However, when they reached the higher floors, they were attacked by creatures from the Dark Territory, who had disguised themselves as statues. Kirito and Alice fought back with their swords, using their skills and teamwork to overcome the enemies. At the same time, Eugeo continued his ascent through the Cathedral, hoping to find Alice and rescue her. He arrived at a large bath on the 90th floor, where he was confronted by Bercouli Synthesis One, the leader of the Integrity Knights.

• In the novel, the escort vessel guarding the Ocean Turtle was a fictional Nagato ship. This was changed to an actual ship named Asahi for the anime due to the animators needing actual reference material for the animation.
