The scene is tense as Kirito and Eugeo clash swords, while Alice watches with a cold gaze. Kirito tries to break through Eugeo's brainwashing and remind him of their friendship, but Eugeo seems to be under the complete control of the piety module. However, as the battle progresses, Eugeo starts to show signs of hesitation and confusion, as his original memories resurface. He had not undergone a proper synthesis ritual, and his bond with Kirito was too strong to erase. He finally regains his free will and uses the Blue Rose Sword to freeze both Alice and Kirito in ice. He then proceeds to ascend the tower, determined to confront Administrator and end her tyranny. He pretends to be loyal to her and lets her remove the piety module from his eye, but he is secretly planning to stab her with his sword. However, his attack is blocked by a barrier that protects Administrator's body from any metal weapon. She is surprised by his betrayal and tries to resynthesize him, but fails. Eugeo resists her manipulation and prepares for a final showdown. Meanwhile, Kirito and Alice manage to break free from the ice and follow Eugeo's trail. They encounter Chudelkin, Administrator's loyal servant, who unleashes a powerful fire spell that summons a giant genie made of flames. The genie resembles Chudelkin and attacks Kirito and Alice with fiery blasts. The two have to fight their way through the inferno to reach Administrator's room and join Eugeo in the battle.
