The Night Before Battle (開戦前夜, Kaisen Zen'ya^?) is the twenty-ninth episode of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime adaptation. It aired on November 9, 2019.

Plot

Alice and Kirito reached the military camp outside the eastern corridor, where they were greeted by the other Integrity Knights. Alice was concerned about Kirito's safety, as he was still in a coma after his battle with Administrator. She hoped that he would wake up soon and join them in the fight against the Dark Territory. Alice and the other knights discussed their strategy to defend the gate, which was under constant attack by the enemy forces. They knew that they had to hold out until reinforcements arrived from the Central Cathedral. Meanwhile, Ronie and Tiese arrived at the camp, carrying a message from Cardinal. They were shocked to learn about Eugeo's death and Kirito's condition, and they volunteered to take care of him. They prayed for his recovery and for the victory of the Human Empire. As the gate was about to collapse, everyone prepared for battle, ready to face their destiny.
