Blood and Life (血と命, Chi to Inochi^?) is the thirty-second episode of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime adaptation. It aired on November 30, 2019.

Plot

Alice had barely escaped the blast of the laser bomb that she had unleashed on the ogre horde. She looked around and saw the charred corpses of the enemy soldiers, but also noticed a large figure moving among them. It was Furgr, the ogre chief, who had somehow survived the explosion. He roared in rage and charged at Alice, swinging his massive club. Alice dodged his attack and countered with a slash of her sword, cutting through his armor and flesh. Furgr stumbled and fell to the ground, blood gushing from his wound. Alice finished him off with a stab to his heart. She felt no pity for him, only relief that he was dead.

Meanwhile, Vector, the dark god who had invaded the Underworld, had sensed Alice's presence and power. He decided to capture her and use her as a key to access the real world. He ordered his army of dark knights, goblins, giants, and other creatures to march towards the human empire and seize Alice. However, the human army had anticipated his move and devised a plan to distract him. They formed a decoy force, led by Renly, Bercouli, Alice, Sheyta, Kirito, Ronie, Tiese, and four dragons. They also recruited a thousand volunteer soldiers and two hundred priests to join them. Their mission was to lure the dark army away from the corridor that connected the human empire and the dark territory, where the rest of the human army was waiting to defend it. They hoped that by doing so, they could buy enough time for Kirito to wake up from his coma and defeat Vector once and for all.

The human empire was in grave danger. The dark mages had discovered the reason for their previous failure and devised a new plan. They sacrificed countless orcs to create more space elements and used them to unleash a horrific spell. A horde of venomous insects flew towards the human army, ready to devour them alive. The humans had no defense against such an attack. Eldrie, a young knight, made a noble decision. He used his own body as a shield and absorbed the insects' poison, saving his comrades from certain death. His sacrifice enraged Alice, the strongest knight of the human empire. She swore to avenge him and charged towards the dark mages. She wielded her sword with incredible skill and power, cutting down every enemy in her path. She single-handedly destroyed the entire mage unit and avenged Eldrie's death.
