Sword Art Online 16.6 is the 10th Material Edition written by Kunori Fumio. The story is a sequel to the "Sword Art Online #16.5" story on an R18 restricted section of the author's website, and a direct sequel to the Blu-ray bonus story "The Day Before".[1] It was released at COMITIA 106[citation needed] on October 20, 2013.[citation needed] It is the first chapter in the Forest Home/Sugary Days story arc. Material Edition 14: "Sugary Days 5" started retroactively referring to it as "Sugary Days 1".[2] It was later included in the "Sugary Days" anime Blu-ray bonus compilation in 2015 and the "Sugary Days" complete compilation in 2018.
The day after Kirito proposed to Asuna and a few moments after completing a quest, the young couple was on the 22nd Floor of Aincrad in front of a log house, where they registered their «Marriage» and passionately embraced each other.

Later on the same day, Kirito and Asuna discussed the possibility of having a proper marriage ceremony, as well as the current situation of the Clearers on the 75th Floor. With the end of the conversation, both of them decided to move to the bedroom, undress, and share the bed.

The title, although denied by the author, is a play on the name of a doujin story, 16.5 (also numbered as gaiden/extra story X1[3]), which had mature content and was once posted on a hidden part of the author's website.
