{{{1}}} ({{{2}}}?)
- Description
This template is used for adding Japanese text to articles. This template should only be used for official names and terms on articles to mark them as non-fanmade.
- Functions
This template is used to provide the term/name in the original language in the case that the English translation is questioned, as well as to provide the pronunciation of the term/name in the Japanese language.
- Syntax
Type
{{Nihongo|Eng|Kanji|Romaji}}
wherever you want to add Japanese text next to a term/name.
Replace:
Eng -> The English term
Kanji - > The term in Japanese
Romaji - > The romanization of the kanji/kana.
Additionally, there is also a named "Furigana" parameter, for adding any Furigana given for a set of kanji, in the original text:
{{Nihongo|Eng|Kanji|Furigana=text|Romaji}}
- Example
- Without furigana:
{{Nihongo|Sword Art Online|ソードアート・オンライン|Sōdo Āto Onrain}}
Becomes...
Sword Art Online (ソードアート・オンライン, Sōdo Āto Onrain?)
- With furigana:
{{Nihongo|Tsujikaze|辻風|Furigana=ツジカゼ|Tsujikaze}}
Becomes...
Tsujikaze (
- Notes
- The template will malfunction if you do not add at least 2 pipes ( | ) to the template after the English term. I.e., if you do not have the romaji, you must still write {{Nihongo|English|Kanji|}} for the template to work.
- Notes may be added to the template by adding additional pipes:
- Example:{{Nihongo|Fuurinkazan|風林火山|Fūrinkazan|lit. "Wind, Forest, Fire and Mountain"}} becomes...
- Fuurinkazan (風林火山, Fūrinkazan?, lit. "Wind, Forest, Fire and Mountain")
- If you need to bold the term/name or add «» around it, add it around the English term/name
- Example: {{Nihongo|«'''Sword Art Online'''»|ソードアート・オンライン|Sōdo Āto Onrain}} becomes
- «Sword Art Online» (ソードアート・オンライン, Sōdo Āto Onrain?)
